In every single way. Yes. 
This year has been a year of transformation, transparency and finding truth within me. This video talks about all the things I've learned in just ONE YEAR of what happens when I started choosing to actually live with Bipolar.
It's made the term Mental Health Warrior, take on a different completely meaning.

Get To Know Your Bipolar

When we speak about Mental Health Awareness we often forget that is not just about talking about how our Mental Illness makes us feel (although EXTREMELY important)

However, it can often mean we forget or don't talk about being aware of our actual Mental HEALTH.

By getting to know my Bipolar Disorder I am not only taking my Self Care to the MAX, but I am also helping my support system around me to not just understand Bipolar Disorder but to also understand the characteristics and traits of MY Bipolar Disorder. 

We are all different, meaning our illness' can also be. For us to understand that helps others understand that as well.

Is it a lot of work? Yes. 

Is it fun? No

Will it help us live with our Mental Illness and strengthen us? You bet your booty! 

Here is how I did it, every step. 

Embracing Misunderstood

1. We are all Misunderstood
2. My need to be understood (from others) comes from an unhealthy place
3. Spending time being understood by others, is time I can be spending understanding myself better. 
4. Spending time complaining about being misunderstood by others sucks the life out of me. 
So ultimately...

Is focusing my time on being understood and complaining about it actually providing myself with self care and growth?

How I Tame My Bipolar Beast

Self-Care is called Self Care for a reason.
It is unique for each of us.
If it didn't need to be unique, it would be called Us-Care right?
That doesn't mean we can't share our ways as we find what works for each of us in the current moment.
How I Tame My Bipolar Beast is how I've found (through the years) what works best for me when Taming My Bipolar Beast. At the moment, because I accept as we grow and change, so does our Self Care and Medication.
